On Tuesday, January 15th 2019 La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc comes to Les Gets.  From 2pm at The North Far Camp at the bottom of the slopes.  Meet the mushers and the sled dogs.  Enjoy grilled marshmallows on the campfire and a maple syrup lollipop tasting.  Ice carving demonstrations, complimentary vin chaud and hot chocolate.

From 3.30pm will be the first start and from 6pm will see the arrival of the mushers followed by the award ceremony.

There are stages throughout the French Alps ski stations and on Tuesday 15th January a stage of this event takes place in Les Gets.  It's a great spectacle to see as the professional sled drivers race through the late afternoon and evening snow with their team of Huskies on the floodlit course around Les Gets.  The main start/finish is at the Route du Front de Neige.  There will be music and animations, stalls and refreshments all through the area with events and fun for all the family to enjoy.

This is the seventh time that this great and unusual event will be hosted in Les Gets.   This event was inspired by the Yukon Quest and Iditarod an annual sled dog race which takes place in Alaska.  The timings are normally that all events start in the village from 14:00 with the depart from Maison des Gets at 16:30 and the arrival at the Front de Neige from 17:30 - we will update these timings as and if they change.  click here for further details - so still time for a good ski during the day!
